CD Review: Dying For A Heart

CD Review:
Dying For A Heart Krystal Meyers
Written by Blair S.
The alternative to Alternative princess Avril Lavigne is back with another batch of rockin' songs. The CD kicks off with "Collide", Dying For A Heart's inaugural single. The following track, "Live", sounds similar to "My Savior" from Krystal Meyers' self-titled debut. "The Beauty Of Grace" showcases Krystal's vocal ability. While Dying For A Heart has fun, energetic songs like "Love Is On The Run" and "Only You Make Me Happy", Krystal Meyers raises a serious issue toward teens, with her song, "The Situation". "The Situation" deals with peer pressure against purity, as well as offering a solution. "Stand And Scream" and "Together" are rock songs that would perform well on Christian Rock radio. "Together" was actually featured in a promotion for the NBC drama, Heroes. "Shake It Off" is an upbeat pop song that breaks up the rock theme. The album's closer, "Hallelujah", is a praise song, and is also the softest track on the project. Krystal Meyers' sophomore effort shows maturity. Whether it be in her writing or her performance, she has surpassed her previous status. I highly recommend this CD for any fan of Avril Lavigne and looking for something better.

Survivor:Cook Islands: "So, we have the finale of Survivor: Cook Islands. Ooohhh, final five, not four. Adam tries to persuade Sundra, Ozzy, & Becky to get rid of Yul's immunity. He knows he's goin' home, but it may change the game a little. Genius, but doesn't work. Yul keeps it. We enter the final challenge. Yes, final challenge. A Survivor first, we get a final three, not final two. The Challenge: stand on a post with a flat piece of wood. As time goes by, the wood gets smaller and smaller until it is half the size of a postcard. Becky falls off, then Yul jumps, leaving Ozzy and Sundra. Time eases by. Finally, Sundra can't take it anymore and leaps off the post...with Ozzy leaping to victory! (Yay!) Tribal counsel arrives with Becky and Sundra being in the hot seat...literally. It ends up being a tie and they have to make fire for a tie-breaker. The problem: Neither one can get a spark. After thirty minutes of them scraping flint, Jeff Probst calls, "Stop. Time for matches!". The girls recieve matches. Flames pop up, then fizzle out. Sundra runs out of matches. Becky completes the challenge, sending her to the finals. After a final feast, the final three go to the last tribal counsel. Where they sit there answering the usual questions. Then after the jury votes, Jeff takes the votes, and is whisked away to the live audience. He reads the votes. "Yul", "Yul", "Ozzy","Ozzy", "Ozzy", "Ozzy", "Yul", and "Yul". Four votes for Yul and Ozzy. the final vote says it all. The winner of Survivor: Cook Islands is...Yul! I am saddened. Yul did play a good game, but I was still rooting for Ozzy. I personally didn't like the whole "final three" thing. It was just weird. Oh well.

Movie Review: The Devil Wears Prada

Movie Review: The Devil Wears Prada
By Courtney T.

When you see the commercials, you think stereotypical "romantic comedy". That is far from what The Devil Wears Prada can be thought of as....Acting: I must say that the acting, well, fit the movie like a glove... seriously, a Prada glove.
Meryl Streep puts on an "devilish" act as the feared boss of infamous styling label, Prada. Anne Hathaway really puts the quirk back in clueless nerds. Overall Score: 8/10
Plot: The plot, oy, well doesn't go so incredibly deep, but hey, what can you expect from a comedy? I mean it certainly is timed right, but it is not creatively a different storyline. In fact to be honest, its a bit cliche, but that doesn't take away from any of the creative quirks thrown all throughout the film. Overall Score: 7/10
Musical Score: One of my LEAST favorite parts of this movie was the musical score. It was choppy, fast and it felt like they just threw some cheap computer made stuff at the last minute. I have to say I really thought the music cheapened the entire feel of the whole New York vibe the movie has going on. Overall Score: 5/10
The Script: Writing from the staff was once again not really the most incredibly unique part of the movie. The main thing that made the script seem so good was the strong performance from all of the cast. Really it was cast perfectly. That's all I have to say about this.
OVERALL: 7/10

Jezy's Music Video Reviews

Jezy's Music Video Review
The Spyhunter
Project 86

This is a song for all you Christian head bangers out there...
The video starts out with the lead singer singing in front of the mirror, and not like a wannabe pop star, then you see the whole band in a garage.
As the song goes on, the band gets mad at the lead singer, then after awhile they
knock out the lead singer with a guitar. Once he is knocked out, they drag him up the stairs,
but then he starts waking up and tries to escape, but he can't.
Then they get to the attic and they tie him to a chair. Then they put a cannon in front of him.
They light the fuse. As the fuse goes down, the band leaves the room, leaving the lead singer helpless...
The fuse has run out. the cannon ball has been fired. But wait, he's still alive! He breaks the rope holding him in the chair. He turns around and has a hole in him where the cannon ball hit him (and a big one too), and in the hole he holds a knife.
Then the words to be continued... appear on the screen.

More head banging fun...
My Will Be A Dead Man
Project 86
The video starts out, the lead singer is in a small strange room with "Have you seen this man" posters with his face on them on the wall.
He starts reading a health book with instructions on how to bandage the hole in him, and he bandages the hole. He grabs the keys to his car and goes off somewhere. Meanwhile, the band found a new lead singer. They are practicing for their concert that night. Then they realize they need the old lead singer back, so they once again solve their problem by knocking the new guy out with a guitar (harder than the last time). Then the old lead singer shows up in time for the concert. Then the crowd shows up for the concert, then they rock out and send the other guy (who is still knocked out) crowd surfing.
