Movie Review: Over The hedge

Movie Review:
Over The Hedge
Written By Courtney T.

Heading into the theatre, I was so excited to see "Over the Hedge"..... suddenly, no, the more appropriate word to me would be sullenly I was disappointed. The first beginning credits begin with very nice mellow music to try to get you in the mood (which I might add was the best part of the entire film) and actually did work at the time, but unfortunately, the movie starts out slow and ends slightly less.
The Music: The music well, let's just say tryed to substitute for the sorry attempt to make you laugh. It was mellow and easygoing but did not fit the movie what so ever.
The Acting: The acting was not the dropping point of the movie..... nor was the plot, I'm not quite sure what was the dropping point of this movie but to me it just did not feel right. Although Gary Shandling as the very shell shocked turtle Verne, at some points was entirely off. Avril Lavigne is not an actress (at least not a voice actress at that.) she was the worst.
The Plot: The plot went up and down much too much. Some points you will be snoring, others you will be jumping and cheering for a lazer dodging squirrel.
The Script: Last but not least the script, well on a humorous level I would rate the script a 4 out of 10 with many mindless punchlines and hardly any thoughtful and simple warming moments. If you like mindless toilet humor, then most likely you are sure to love the humor here.

Overall Score: 5 1/2 OUT OF 10

CD Review: Smile, It's The End Of The World-Hawk Nelson

CD Review:
Smile, It's The End Of The World Hawk Nelson
Review by Blair Sanders
Hawk Nelson is back and better than ever! If you love punk rock, you'll love Hawk Nelson's second project, Smile, It's The End Of The World. The CD kicks off with the strong "The One Thing I Have Left". This song has a great upbeat punk chorus. "The Show" & "Bring 'Em Out" are great party songs. Hawk Nelson performed "Bring "Em Out" on the movie, Yours, Mine, & Ours (The remake). Smile also contains the hit single, "Everything You Ever Wanted". "Everything You Ever Wanted" is a strong ballad with a rock chorus. This is the best song on this CD. "Something On My Mind" has an upbeat piano intro with guitars joining in. "Zero" is a ballad Hawk Nelson wrote about a friend who commited suicide. "Is Forever Enough" has rough guitaring with a pop chorus. "Head On Collision" is another upbeat pop song, but is one the better songs on Smile. "Hello" is a cheesy love song. Musically, if you liked Letters To The President, you'll love Smile, It's The End Of The World. However, the main flaw with this album is that it lacks strong christian lyrics. If you are looking for a punk rock CD with more Christian lyrics, I recommend Relient K's The Anatomy Of Tongue And Cheek, Eleventyseven's debut CD, or even Hawk Nelson's first CD. Even without strong Christian lyrics, Smile, It's The End Of The World is one of the best punk rock CDs ever.

J.B. Talks About...Larryboy & The Bad Apple

J.B. Talks About...
Larryboy & The Bad Apple!
Larryboy is finally back, in 3D! This is the first Larryboy 3D episode since Larryboy & The Rumor Weed in 1999. Big Idea made a cartoon series for Larryboy, but I guess everyone liked 3D best. (Personally, I liked the cartoons. Maybe that was because they released them more often.) This time Larryboy deals with a bad apple. (And temptation!) Larryboy & The Bad Apple starts off with the Veggietales' theme song and traditional table-top set, which were missing in Larryboy & The Rumor Weed. The story begins with Bumblyburg celebrating it's 300th birthday. However, the statue of Bumblyburg's founder, Obediah Bumbly, is covered in a mysterious web. Stranger than that, Mayor Blueberry & Petunia the news reporter are found missing. It's Larryboy (and his butler, Alfred) to the rescue! There's just one problem, Larryboy is dealing with his addiction to chocolate. Our red villain uses this to her advantage. I can't give too much away, that would ruin the surprises. Also, stay tuned toward the end for the newest Larryboy theme song, "Rock On Larryboy". This is the third Larryboy theme song thus far. (I like the other two best.) Overall, very good. As a Larryboy fan, I am pleased. Other LB fans should be happy as well.

I've had this song in my head since I've gotten back from vacation.
You can find this song on Sanctus Real's CD "The Face Of Love" and on this year's "Wow" CD, which releases in October.

First, If We Pray by Anointed was my favorite CD, then A Maze Of Grace (Avalon), Inside Out (Nate Sallie), Shine: The Hits (Newsboys), Fight The Tide (Sanctus Real), & Into The Rush (Aly & AJ).
